Analysis on disease spectrum among patients with infectious diseases in Nanjing Second Hospital from 2007 to 2015

Objective To analyze the disease spectrum in Department of Infectious Diseases in Nanjing Second Hospital from 2007 to 2015. Methods The clincal data of patients with infectious diseases in Nanjing Second Hospital from January 2007 to December 2015 were collected and analyzed retrospectively. Results There were 7 103 respiratory infectious disease cases (66.63%) treated in our hospital from 2007 to 2015. The number of blood transmitted infections and sexually transmitted infections showed a rising trend, especially AIDS (2 581 cases, 89.56%) .The prevalence of intestinal infectious diseases (274 cases, 2.57%) and vector-borne diseases (402 cases, 3.77%) were low in each year. Conclusions The respiratory infectious disease is the main infectious disease treated in Nanjing Second Hospital. Blood transmitted infections and sexually transmitted infections increase year by year. The health education on AIDS should be strengthened, and it is important to be on guard against the emerging of new infectious diseases all the time.
