Denerve sıçan femurunda hiperbarik oksijen tedavisinin kırık iyileşmesi üzerine etkisi

2013
Objective: In this study, the effect of the sciatic nerve defect in rat femurs on the improvement of the fracture, as well as the effect of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) on the healing of fracture in the presence of a nervous defect was investigated in pooled experimental groups. Materials and Methods: Twenty-one Wistar albino rats were randomized into three groups. In a control group of rats (Group 1) (n=7), a femur fracture was formed and intramedullary fixation was applied. In Group 2, (n=7) the sciatic nerve defect in rats was formed after a femur fracture and intramedullary fixation was performed In Group 3 (n=7) HBO therapy was administered in rats after a femur fracture, intramedullary fixation and sciatic nerve defect were formed. At the end of four weeks the callus areas of fractured femurs were measured and examined through biomechanical test method. Results: The mean of the callus strength in group 3 was higher than in group 2 and a statistically significant difference was found between them (p>0.05). The mean of the callus area in group 2 was lower than in group 1, therefore this difference was statistically significant (p
