Consensus Building on Quality of Care Priorities

2018
We used a Delphi consensus-based approach to identify priorities for developing a research, action, and advocacy agenda for quality of care in family planning in India. The primary objective of this effort was to build a consensus among key stakeholders about research, action, and advocacy priorities to improve quality of care in family planning in India. The process included an exhaustive search using complementary approaches to identify potential research questions, and two Delphi rounds to select the priorities for developing the research, action, and advocacy agenda. This chapter presents key priorities identified through the Delphi process and qualitative inputs received from the participants. This exercise helped in soliciting inputs from a large number of individuals across diverse locations and areas of expertise. The names of participants were kept anonymous to avoid bias or domination in the process of prioritization of the quality of care agenda (research, action, and advocacy) by experts.
