The present invention provides a rare earth permanent magnet material and method. Manufacturing method of the present invention includes a plurality of arc ion plating step and the penetration step, wherein the arc plasma deposition process using the heavy rare earth element-containing metal deposited on the surface of the sintered NdFeB magnets, the NdFeB sintered magnet in at least one direction thickness of 10mm or less, and then, the sintered NdFeB magnets after deposition heat treatment. The permanent magnet materials of the present invention, intrinsic coercive force (Hcj, the unit kOe) and maximum energy product ((BH) max, units of MGOe) of 66.8 and above. Further, high productivity manufacturing method of the present invention, harmful substances does not increase, and relatively cheap apparatus.
