Recommendations for Geophysical Studies of the Siberian Craton Basement

2014
Hydrocarbon accumulations in the basement rocks found in the North American (U.S., Mexico), South American (Colombia, Brazil, Venezuela), the African-Arabian (Libya, Morocco, Egypt), East European (Yugoslavia, Hungary, Ukraine, Austria ), South China (China), Indochina (Vietnam) platforms, the West Siberian (Russia) and the Western European plate (Spain, Italy, England, Scotland). In spite of considerable interest to geologists, the Siberian platform was not associated with hydrocarbon reserves in its basement. In the present study provides information about the rocks forming the foundation , given their geophysical and petrophysical characteristics , the processes of formation of secondary porosity . The results can be used to predict reservoir zones within other fields and to create the correct geological and hydrodynamic models.
