PRODUCTION OF T-PA BY C-127 CELLS CULTIVATED ON DIFFERENT POROUS MICROCARRIERS IN A PERFUSED FLUIDIZED BED REACTOR

t-PA secreting C-127 cells were cultivated in a fluidized bed reactor on different macroporous microcarriers, prepared from DEAE-dextran coated Siran glass and native collagen, respectively. Nearly identical results were obtained with respect to cell growth and volumetric productivity. A linear relationship between the t-PA productivity and the glucose consumption rate permitted the rapid calculation of the product yield just by determining the glucose concentration.
