Into Space: A Mathematical Journey

An investigation for Year 3/4 students: How many minutes of your lifetime will you spend at school? What percentage of your life is that? I looked at several pages of Fermi questions and ideas for open-ended tasks to formulate a question that I thought would be of interest to students. I thought students would be more easily engaged in finding the answer to questions that directly related to themselves.
