Organization of Technical Inspection System in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Neighbouring Countries

The main segments of the system of technical inspection in Bosnia and Herzegovina (B&H) and the neighbouring countries are explained in this paper. Also, it shows the specifics of the work of technical inspection stations for each country. Based on the expert analysis presented, the readers of this paper will be able to gain insight into the advantages and disadvantages of particular systems for roadworthiness. Special attention was given to the area of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in which there are three different systems for technical inspection joined through a state agency into one. Each system of technical inspection both in B&H and neighbouring countries has been observed through several important features in its functioning such as the conditions for the opening of stations, the prices of technical inspections, the inspection proof quality, the controls of the work of technical inspection stations. The paper presents also a detailed analysis of profitability of technical inspection stations in B&H regarding numerous conditions which have to be met by the technical inspection stations in their activities. These data may serve as the basis for all the stakeholders who want to be involved in the activity of technical inspection to know what to expect.
