Effect of Shaoyao Shujin Pill on Cartilage Pathology and the Level of PIICP of Rats with Knee Osteoarthritis

Objective:To evaluate the effect of Shaoyao Shujin pill(SSP) on the pathology of articular cartilage and the level of PⅡCP of rats with knee osteoarthritis.Methods:Fifty SD rats were randomly divided into 5 groups: normal group,model group,and three experimental groups(the high-dose group,the mid-dose group,and the low-dose group).The ACLT operation was applied to make knee osteoarthritis model,and they were intragastric administration 2 days after surgery.Abdominal aortic blood was separated and the surgery side of knee was taken after 4 weeks.Results:The Mankin score and the level of PⅡCP were statistically different between the test group and the model group(P0.05).Conclusion:Shaoyao Shujin pill can protect articular cartilage and prevent the degeneration of knee osteoarthritis of articular cartilage.
