Cortical Artery Pressure: Preoperative and Postoperative Arteriographic Findings in Patients with Internal Carotid Artery Occlusion
1980
In ten consecutive patients with internal carotid artery (ICA) occlusion and treated by an extra-intracranial arterial bypass (EIAB) the cortical intra-arterial pressure has been measured. The results have been compared to the preoperative and postoperative arteriographic findings to evaluate (1) the significance of collateral circulation assessed by the angiographic studies and (2) the role of the pressure gradients in regard to the postoperative intracranial filling degree via the shunt.
