Clinical study of intensity modulated radiation therapy in radical radiotherapy of cervical carcinoma

2012
Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of intensity modulated radiation therapy(IMRT) in radical radiotherapy of cervical carcinoma. Methods Seventy patients in stage ⅡB-ⅢB with cervical carcinoma were studied.Thirty five patients were treated by IMRT,another 35 patients were treated by whole pelvic radiotherapy(WPRT).The short-term effect and complication incidence of two groups were compared. Results The cure rate and the rate of forward control of IMRT group were higher than that of control group, complication incidence was lower than that of control group. There was statistical significant between the two groups(P 0.05).Conclusion Compared with the conventional radiotherapy,IMRT has an apparent advantage in the treatment of cervical carcinoma. It is worthy of applying in clinic.
