Possibility of Triplet Pairing in Dy1−xYxRh4B4 Series

2006
We have investigated magnetic and superconducting properties of the series of Dy1−xYxRh4B4 samples by means of AC and DC magnetization measurements. It was established that this compound exhibits ferromagnetic order in temperatures below TN = 39K for x = 0 and TN = 12K for x = 0.4, and superconducting behavior for temperatures ranging from Tc = 4.5K for x = 0 to Tc = 10K for x = 1. At the same time the effective magnetic moment changes from about μeff = 9.5μB for x = 0 to μeff = 0 for x = 1, Magnetic hysteresis loops show Meissner behavior below the Tc, in spite of the substantial ferromagnetic component of hysteresis. Hc2 (T)dependencies are similar to those observed earlier for HoN2B2C samples. Our experiments suggest that we are dealing with coexistence of ferromagnetism and superconductivity, thus they show possibility of triplet pairing in Dy1−xYxRh4B4.
