Design of Source Driver for QVGA-Scale LCD Driver IC

This paper presents a design of the source driver for QVGA-scale LCD Driver IC. The source driver consists of three blocks; a decoder/driver block, a reference voltage generator block, and a grayscale voltage generator block. The decoder/driver block is designed using a mixed driving scheme which has 64 gray amplifiers and 6 channel amplifiers to reduce area of the decoder/driver block in keeping high drivability. A circuit of the source driver has been designed in transistor level using 0.35㎛ CMOS technology and has been verified using Hspice.
