Catalytic activity of Bismuth Titanate

Abstract In this research, thermal decomposition method was used to synthesize Bi 12 TiO 20 nanoparticles under water-ethanolmedium, using Bi(NO 3 ) 3 .5H 2 O and Ti(OC 2 H 5 ) 4  as precursors. The prepared materials were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). The bismuth titanate nanoparticles revealed a good photocatalytic activitytowards methylene blue (MB) under visible light irradiation. The GCE modified bismuth titanatehas good electrochemical sensing of 4-nitrophenol by voltammetric techniques.
