Characteristics of an adiabatic differential scanning microcalorimeter

Abstract An on-line system was designed for the acquisition and analysis of data from the differential adiabatic scanning microcalorimeter DASM-1M. The characteristics of the calorimeter, temperature dependence of the heating rates, calibration of the heat capacity and time constants of the apparatus at various heating rates were obtained. The heat capacity data of lysozyme measured with the DASM-1M were compared with those using a conductive type DSC instrument, the micro-DSC.
