MRI in cerebral palsy: correlation between clinical and MR findings

1991
Fifty-one patients with spastic cerebral palsy referred for selective dorsal rhizotomy were studied by MRI to determine the degree of cerebral damage and predict surgical outcome. A close relationship was established between cerebral lesions such as periventricular leukomalacia, corpus callosum degeneration, porencephaly, atrophy and cortical infarction, and clinical severity of spasticity.
