Effect of solvent/auxiliary ligand on the structures of Cd(II) coordination polymers based on ligand 5-(2-benzothiazolyl)isophthalic acid
2021
Abstract Three Cd(II) coordination polymers (CPs) built from 5-(2-benzothiazolyl)isophthalic acid (H2L), namely, {[(CH3)2NH2]2[CdL2]·H2O·2DMF}n (1), [Cd2L2(DEF)3]n (2) and {[CdL(4,4’-bpy)]·H2O·2DEF}n (3) (DMF = N,N’-dimethylformamide, DEF = N,N’-diethylformamide, 4,4’-bpy = 4,4’-bipyridine) have been prepared through varying solvent or introducing auxiliary ligand. CP 1 possesses a 2D 44-sql structure. CP 2 displays a 2D four-nodal (3,4)-connected (43)(4·82)(43·82·10)(42·83·10) structure. CP 3 features a 2D binodal (3,5)-connected (44·62)(42·67·8) net. The diverse structures of CPs 1–3 illustrate the impact of solvent/auxiliary ligand on ultimate structures. Moreover, CP 1 shows a remarkable sensitivity and selectivity for Fe3+ ions via fluorescence quenching effect, which can function as a fluorescent sensor for detecting metal ions.
