The Ulster division's unburied dead

The IRA bomb, detonated on February 9 in Canary Wharf, London, has thrown the Irish peace process into crisis. This was unequivocal proof, if proof was needed, that the war in and over Northern Ireland has not ended. Thus, for the foreseeable future, there will be no solemn acts of remembrance for the dead, no monuments marking the war's end, or other symbolic acts that conjure a setded past. This will continue until the peace process enters a phase where reverting to the blunt force of arms no longer looms as a serious possibility.
