Development of Adaptive Companion Robot Based on Human Satisfaction (ACOM)

2000
Abstract The 21 st century is likely to see many robots and computer systems coming into the sphere of daily life. Such robots and systems must possess the ability to cooperate and coexist along with humans. In this paper an adaptive behavioral companion robot based on human satisfaction (ACOM) which is evaluated by frontal electroencephalogram (EEG) measurement was proposed. Psychological impression of ACOM toward the human was investigated through an interactive experiment, showing the possibility of a robot which understands human satisfaction and takes adaptive behavior.
