Un nouveau site à Mammifères and le Miocène supérieur d'Aubignas (Ardèche)

Near Aubignas (Ardeche), a small locality of mammals has been mentioned in the Upper Miocene deposits which overlie the basaltic plateau of Coirons. A review of this fauna lead to its placing at the top of the zone MN 11. Very near to this locality but in a slightly higher stratigraphical level, a new mammal locality has been found. This new locality has yielded a slightly more recent fauna which has been referred to the basis of zone MN 12. Therefore, these two faunal assemblages seem to straddle the Lower-Middle Turolian boundary
