Procena vrednosti lokalnih protektivnih metoda latex proteze i fibrinskog lepka na anastomozama kolona

2003
In this experimental study on small animals (Wister rats) the evaluation was performed of local protective methods - endoluminal latex prosthesis and fibrine adhesive - on colon anastomosis healing - prevention of dehiscence. Ninety experimental animals in whom segmental left colon resection was done in general anaesthesia were divided into three groups of 30 animals. In the control group after segmental resection, termino-terminal anastomosis with single-layer elongated suture was performed. In the second and third group with the animals treated in the same way, anastomosis protection was performed with endoluminal latex prosthesis and extraluminal application of fibrin adhesive. In the postoperative course with animals monitored for 21 days, in the control group 3 (10%) animals died of acute diffuse peritonitis as the consequence of anastomosis dehiscence; in the latex prosthesis group 2 animals (6,6%) died, while in the extraluminally applied fibrin adhesive group all animals survived. The results of this experiment demonstrate that local protective measures for colon anastomoses may produce better results, with fibrin adhesive administration as the best treatment modality.
