Las audiencias de cine en Torreón, Coahuila, México, durante las décadas 1940 – 1960

Resumen: Este trabajo muestra la experiencia social de asistir al cine en Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico, durante las decadas de 1940 a 1960, con  base en entrevistas a 20 informantes mayores de 60 anos. Los resultados expresan la importancia que tenia la asistencia al cine, la influencia de peliculas y actores en la vida de las personas, asi como la transformacion que iban teniendo las salas de exhibicion de cine, a la par de la que vivia la ciudad. La investigacion forma parte del Proyecto Culturas cinematograficas en contexto: Estudio comparativo de programacion cinematografica y asistencia al cine en Belgica y Mexico, coordinado por Jose Carlos Lozano Rendon, Philippe Meers y Daniel Biltereyst. Abstract This work shows the social experience of cinemagoing in the city of Torreon Coahuila, Mexico during the decades from 1940 to 1960 based on interviews of 20 people 60 years old and up. The results show the importance that cinemagoing had in the people, the influence of the movies and actors in the life of the people, as well as the transformation that the movie theaters along with the transformation lived by the city. The investigation is part of the Cinematography Cultures Project in context: A comparative study of the movie programming and attendance to the movie theaters in Belgium and Mexico coordinated by Jose Carlos Rendon, Philippe Meers and Daniel Biltereyst.
