Charge Exchange in Proton-Germanium Collisionst

The electron capture cross sections by protons incident on germanium films to form 1s, 2s, 2p hydrogens are calculated by Born approximation. The basic data of the differential cross sections at the forward 1” versus the incident proton energy are presented. Comparisons of the present results with those of proton-carbon, proton-silicon collisions are discussed and the possible use of the present investigation to the device physics is stressed.
