ESTUDO QUÍMICO DE MACROALGAS DO LITORAL DO CEARÁ: Cryptonemia luxurians (MERTENS) J. AGARDH E Bryothamnion seaforthii (TURNER) KUTZING

In this study, the fatty acid of two species of marine macroalgae, Bryothamnion seaforthii and Cryptonemia luxurians (Rhodophyta), collected on Sabiaguaba beach, Ceara State, Brazil were analyzed as methyl esters by gas chromatography and mass spectrometry. The fatty acids present in higher concentration in C. luxurians were: palmitic (32.2%), palmitoleic (6.9%), oleic (10.4%), stearic acid (11.0%) and 2-methyl-hexadecanoic (6.9%)The main fatty acids of B. seaforthii were: palmitic (46.91%), miristic (6.31%), stearic (5.86%), oleic (5.50 %) and lactobacilic (6.47%).
