Influence of interplanting different forage grass to coconut rhizosphere microorganisms.

2012
The quantities and population structure changes of coconut rhizosphere microorganisms were studied in this paper. Results indicated that the quantities of coconut rhizosphere microorganisms varied significantly based on intercropping different forage grass. For bacteria,it had the highest quantities by intercropping Stylosanthes guianensis cv.Reyan II.However, the lowest quantities appeared if intercropping Panicum maximum CIAT6901.For actinomyces, the highest quantities were got without any forage grass intercropped, while it had the lowest quantities by intercropping Brachiaria dictyoneura Stapf. For fungi,Panicum maximum CIAT6901 was the best grass for being intercropped, while the worst was Brachiaria dictyoneura Stapf. Our data also proved that it was better for growth and reproduction of most bacteria when no forage grass was intercropped with coconut. However, this caused lower population dominance though higher population abundance.
