Transmission du HIV de la mère à l'enfant

2003
The development of HIV pandemic within the last ten years has largely contributed to an increase in the numbers of HIV infected woman and of HIV infected children, particularly in developing countries. The prevention of HIV mother-to-child transmission using antiretroviral therapy has been efficiently demonstrated in Northern countries where the transmission rate is less than two percent. The survey of HIV-1 diversity is necessary to adapt the tools for HIV diagnosis in babies, using molecular technologies such as RT-PCR and/or DNA-PCR.
