Bonding state of fluorine in lead-tin oxyfluorophosphate glasses☆
1990
Abstract X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS) and infrared spectra were measured for lead-tin oxyfluorophosphate glasses and the bonding state of fluorine atoms was investigated. F 1s XPS had a doublet peak: one of the component peaks at 687.4 eV in binding energy was attributed to the fluorine in PF bonds, and the other at 684.9 eV to the fluorine in ionic MF bonds (M:Pb(II) and Sn(II)). The fraction of the latter increases with increase in the fluorine content.
