Effects of Nd:YAG laser and Er:YAG laser on restorative dental materials

Abstract The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of Nd:YAG and Er:YAG laser on direct restorative materials which are usually placed on tooth surfaces adjacent to areas subjected to laser treatment. The application of both laser lights has been shown to be deleterious to all the materials in this study. Therefore, the use of these two lasers in contact or proximity to restorative materials should be with great care.
