Gestante com esclerose múltipla: reflexão fenomenológica da mulher quanto ao parto

Objective : To describe childbirth and birth from the perspective of multiple sclerosis patient. Materials and Method : A phenomenological study based on Husserl´s Descriptive Phenomenology and Alfred Schutz's Social Phenomenology. The description was obtained through a phenomenological interview with a woman who had recently given birth in August 2018 n a hospital in the Northeast, Brazil. The eidetic phenomenological reduction was applied to analyze the speeches of the postpartum woman with sclerosis. Results : From the analysis of the testimonials emerged the categories: Fear of getting pregnant with multiple sclerosis MS ; Terrible pain and fear of childbirth ; and Happiness with the baby . It is noticed that the difficulties arising from chronic degenerative disease take on new conceptions with the possibility of Being Mother and the birth of the baby, acquiring new meanings and thus projecting positive perspectives for the future. Conclusions : Motherhood in chronic conditions such as MS provides new meanings in the World of Life, where the birth of the baby projects new positive perspectives for a woman's future.
