The influence of different light intensity on growth of juvenile sea cucumber Apostichopus japonicus

2007
The effects of three light intensities(0.77~5.57lx,650~2 900lx,2700~11 000lx)on the growth of juvenile sea cucumbers Apostichopus japonicus were studied. Two diets were fed to the animals in each light intensity treatment groups, respectively. Results showed that the daily weight gain(DWG)and specific growth rate(SGR)of juvenile A.ja- ponicus were significantly affected by light intensity(P0.05).The SGR and DWG of the higher light intensity treatments were greater than the lower light intensity treatments. But the DWG and SGR were not significantly affeeted by feedstuff(P0.05).The SGR of different light intensity treatments was 0.26 %,0.63% and 0.98%/d,respectively,and the DWG was 0.53,1.39 and 2.26 g/d,respectively.
