Assessment of Asphalt Durability Tests: Part 3, Review of SATS Test to Evaluate Existing Base Layers

There is a need to assess the service life of existing asphalt pavements for durability. This study investigates whether the current SATS protocol can be used to measure the service life of existing pavement. Trials of samples from runways and taxiways have demonstrated the pavement samples were found to have durability issues and that specific layer had deteriorated. Further testing will continue.
