Contact information transfer system, contact information transfer method and portable terminal apparatus

The invention provides a contact information transfer system which can transfer contact information stored in a portable terminal apparatus to an image processing apparatus through simple operations. The contact information transfer system includes an image processing apparatus (2) and a portable terminal apparatus (1) which can be connected with each other. The portable terminal apparatus (1) starts a second application for organizing contact information upon access to the image processing apparatus (2) being enabled by a first application for accessing the image processing apparatus (2), the contact information including contact identification information used for identification of a plurality of contacts and information representing contact ways corresponding to the respective contact identification information. After the starting process, the portable terminal apparatus obtains the contact information based on the first application and sends the contact information to the image processing apparatus (2). The image processing apparatus (2) receives the contact information from the portable terminal apparatus (1) and converts the contact information so that the contact information can be displayed on a display unit (260).
