Quinoline, quinazoline and cinnoline based fungicides

PURPOSE: To provide fungicides effective also for insensible bailli to known bactericidal substances by incorporating specific quinoline, quinoazoline and cinnoline based compounds. contg. specific compds. therein. CONSTITUTION: A compd. of formula I [X is CR 5 (R 5 is H, Cl or CH 3 ) or N; Y is CR 5 (R 5 ' is H, Cl or Br) or N, but (X and Y are not simultaneously N; Z is O, S, SO, SO 2 or NR 6 (R 6 is H, alkyl, etc.); R 1 to R 4 are each H, NO 2 , halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, etc.; A is a hydrocarbon chain, cycloalkyl, formula II (R 9 to R 13 are each H, CN, NO 2 , OH, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, phenyl, etc.), formula III (R 14 is H, halogen, CN, alkyl, etc.), etc.], for example, 7-chloro-4-(2- nitrophenoxy)quinoline, are incorporated as effective components into the fungicides.
