A new whistler recorder and analyzer developed at Agra

A new experimental set-up for recordin g a nd a nal ysis of whi stlers and VLF e mi ssio ns has been developed at Agra, which is less ex pensiv e. automatic and time sav in g in compari son to earli er experimental set-up being used in differe nt whistler stations in India. The new experimental set- up employs a crossed loop ante nn a, amplifi ers, low pass fi lt er, a sou nd card and PC with a software specially designed for recording and ana lysis of VLF data. Some examples of whi stlers and VLF emissions recorded by the new set-up are presented and their freque ncy-t ime c haracteri sti cs are di sc us ed th oroug hl y.
