Diastereoselective Self-Assembly and Crystal Structure of the Chiral, Anionic Molybdenum-Based [2+2] Molecular Square [{MoO2(C21H20O4)}2]4-

The rigid geometry of the chiral spiro ligand allows not only the diastereoselective synthesis of a helical molecular square but also predetermination of the absolute configurations of the coordinated metal centers.
