A REVIEW ON SPATIAL DISTRIBUTION AND DRIVING IMPACTS OF WHEAT PRODUCTION

The paper made a comprehensive review on the theories and methods of crop production and spatial distribution. Special attention was given to the changes of distribution and driving forces of wheat production in China.In the paper,concentration index,comparative advantage,variation index,spatial statistics,AEZ model,gravity model,cropping zoning,Moran’s I,panel data analysis,and etc.,which were used to analyze wheat production and its spatial distribution,were discussed and compared. The driving forces of wheat production and its spatial distribution have been identified. Based on the review,it was found that the spatial distribution of China’s cereal grain production has been changing and shifted from Southern to Northern. North and Central China are nowadays’ core regions of cereal grain production. The information and summaries of this paper is informative and helpful for further studies.
