The creation of open institutional archives in universities will make an important contribution in enriching the productivity and innovativeness of research activities. In addition, the demand from outside for the scholarly work produced by university faculty members will increase. In this paper, the conceptual content of access will be discussed, and at the same time the Ankara University Open Access Platform one of the first of its kind to be established in a university in Turkey, will be described.
