Efficiency of utilization of corn-silage diets by pregnant and lactating sheep.

1980
The efficiency of energy utilization of diets based on corn silage in pregnant and lactating sheep with an average body weight at lambing of 62 ± 0.8 kg has been studied. An efficiency of dietary utilization of 67.1–69.2% as digestible energy (DE) and of 60–61% as metabolizable energy (ME) was found for pregnant sheep and of 66–68% as DE and of 57–60% as ME for lactating sheep, depending on the content of corn silage in the diet.
