Effect of evidence-based data feedback combined comprehensive intervention on prevention of CRAB infections

2011
OBJECTIVE To explore the effect of evidence based molecular biological information feedback on carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii infections,to provide the practical base for effective preventing and control CRAB infections.METHODS The ERIC-PCR was performed to judge the relateness of CRABs.The outcome of data was feedback to RICU ward,at the same time, the comprehensive intervention measures were taken. The CRAB infection/colonization density and the consumption of hand hygiene were observed monthly.RESULTS The effect on CRAB infections lasted short and repeatedly often by conventional mail and living method.By evidence based data feedback, the CRAB infection/colonization density descended from 25 cases to 4 cases, with the minimum 0 day.CONCLUSIONS The effect on CRAB infections, through data feekfack based molecular biological analysis, was longer lasting and more stable. The strengthening for management of respiroty and hand hygiene were crucial for the intervention effect.
