Clinical study on patients with advanced gastric cancer treated with modified FOLFOX regimen

Objective To survey the effects and safety of high dosage of 5-fluorouracil with oxaliplatin and leucovorin combination therapy in the treatment of advanced gastric carcinoma.Methods All patients reveived modified FOLFOX regimen,CF 200mg/m~2 iv 2 h followed by 5-FU500 mg iv and 5-FU 4000mg continuous infusion 46 h,OXA 130mg/m~2 iv 4 h,repeated every 3 weeks.Results There were 2 CR,8 PR in the group,The overall response tate(CR+PR)was 47.6%.The major toxic reactions was nausea,vomiting and peripheral neurotoxcity.Conclusons 5-Fluorouracil incombination with OXA and leucovorin is a high response for advanced gastric carcinoma and with mild toxicity,which can be first-line methods.
