Survey on awareness of knowledge related to hepatitis B among fetation or puerpera in Luohu district of Shenzhen city

Objective To learn the awareness of knowledge related to hepatitis B among pregnant women or puerperal to are in Shen Zhen city people' s hospital, and to provide the strategies of health education for hepatitis B prevention to pregnant women or puerperal. Methods Questionnaire survey was conducted among pregnant women or puerperal who were in Shen Zhen city people' s hospital. Results The awareness rate about three questions were more than 80%. The three questions were that hepatitis B is a infectious disease, hepatitis B vaccination can prevent disease and routes of transmission of hepatitis B. But the awareness rate about surface marker of hepatitis B were low generally. Culture degree was the significant influencing factor to the awareness rate, but the difference of the awareness rate among the different occupation showed no statistically significant. The main resource of knowledge was from media, less from professional staff and books. Conclusions Health education of hepatitis B knowledge is necessary for different pregnant women or puerperal population, to enlarge the coverage rate of hepatitis B knowledge.
