The objective of the present study was to investigate the formation and performance of teachers of Scholar Physical Education in the area of ??Adapted Physical Education. A total of 32 Physical Education teachers (age = 37 ± 10 years, female: n = 11, 34%, male: n = 21, 66%) from schools in the municipal (n = 11, 26%), state (n = 19, 45%), federal (n = 1, 2%) and private network (n = 11, 26%) of different cities of the country participated in the study. A questionnaire was used as a data collection tool with questions (open and closed) related to the formation and performance of teachers in adapted physical education. The questionnaire was inserted in an online platform (Google Forms) to facilitate the access and participation of as many teachers as possible. Regarding the formation, our main results indicated that the teachers present habilitation in degree, they studied at least one discipline that approached contents regarding the PWD, in particular the discipline "Adapted Physical Education". Most of the knowledge obtained came from undergraduate courses. Regard the professional performance, our results indicate that: teachers have at least one student with a disability; self-assess able to act with this public, present incorrect concepts regarding types of disability and use adaptation of activities to include students with disabilities in their classes. We conclude that the initial formation of teachers should be more complete and we reinforce the importance of knowing more about the numerous pedagogical adaptations that can help in the inclusion process.
