[Treatment protocol for long-term anti-epilepsy drugs in children with refractory epilepsy].

2004
: Long-term treatment of children with drug-resistant epilepsy has not been addressed in detail in the literature. Contraindications for surgery must be reassessed periodically. The epileptic nature and the focal characteristic of seizures must be verified, the absence of tumor, malformation or another indication for surgery (i.e. obstructed valve.), the choice of anti-epileptic drugs depending on the epilepsy syndrome, even following callosotomy, and the dose, that is often over-estimated, must also be re-evaluated.
