Fluid Dynamics Study of Flotation Impeller Applied to Coarse Particle

Flotation of coarse particle demands not only strong mixing for mineral suspension,but also the mineralization bulb would not drop during ascending.This article studies the fluid dynamics required for a new type impeller applied to flotation of rough particle in the laboratory.The flow velocity of different fluid dynamics area in water are measured and compared with common KYF impeller.It is found,with no remarkable higher power consumption than common KYF impeller under the same rotate speed,the new type impeller can increase the transfer distance of rough particle effectively.The impeller's fluid dynamics in flotation cell is also tested.The air dispersion of new type impeller is between 1.5~2.5.
