Digest: The Red Queen hypothesis demonstrated by the Daphnia‐Caullerya host‐parasite system†

2018
The Red Queen hypothesis predicts that antagonistic interactions between species lead to coevolutionary change. Turko et al. (2017) used the Daphnia-Caullerya host-parasite system to empirically confirm that the clonal turnover of Daphnia hosts is higher during Caullerya parasite epidemics, as expected under the Red Queen hypothesis.
