This paper will illustrate some of the facets of population change over the coming thirty years and will seek to integrate them into their probable consequences for the health care system....This paper begins with a review of the most recent population projections prepared by the U.S. Bureau of the Census....The remainder...will be divided into four sections. The first section will present current demographic trends. The second section will address the role of demography in levels of mortality and morbidity.
