Passive Q-switching of Nd3+:GdAl3(BO3)4 crystal

Abstract The passively Q-switched operation of a new multifunctional crystal Nd 3+ :GdAl 3 (BO 3 ) 4 is realized. The pulse characteristics under different experimental conditions are measured and the results are theoretically analyzed.
