Cyclic nucleotide signaling in Arabidopsis thaliana and the identification of cGMP binding proteins

2017
Cyclic nucleotide monophosphates are important signaling molecule in plants. This work gives new insight on the kinetics of these molecules in response to NO2-induced cell death and hypersensitive responses. It was shown that the levels of the 2’3’-isomers of cAMP, cGMP, cCMP and cUMP are differentially regulated in these processes. Furthermore, a cGMP binding protein was identified and was shown to be involved in flavonol-biosynthesis and chloroplast development.
