The use of very high frequeniees for Aeradio communications

1951
Air-to-ground communications are essential for the control of air traffic. Up to the present time, most of the communications between aircraft and the ground have been carried out using transmissions in the high-frequency waveband. For internal air routes there are many advantages in changing over to transmissions at very high frequencies. The following article mentions these and describes a propagation experiment made between Mount Egmont and Colonial Knob, near Wellington.
