Impact of STIs including AIDS on adolescents: a global perspective.

This paper discusses the impact of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) including AIDS on adolescents in a global perspective. Topics discussed include: adolescents as reproductive and sexual beings; vulnerability of adolescents to STIs and HIV; the consequences of STIs and HIV on young people; the impact on adolescents; adolescents affected by HIV; and living in a world with HIV. Suggested actions to address issues around STI/HIV and their impact on adolescents are presented.
